If you have taxable income, the federal political tax credit will rebate most of your contribution next year on your 2025 tax return:

• 75% of the first $400
• 50% of the next $350 (i.e. from $400 to $750)
• 33% of the rest up to a total maximum rebate of $650

Unions and corporations may not make federal political contributions. Canadian citizens or permanent residents may donate a maximum of $1,750 to riding associations in 2025. They may also donate a further $1,750 to the federal NDP office in Ottawa.

Donations to the BC NDP are eligible for a separate provincial tax credit and do not count against either federal limit.
